Head, Manufacturing HR - Telecom World Leader
We are seeking to recruit a Head of Human Resources for the manufacturing operations of a global Telecom leader. The company has a dominant presence in the global telecom industry and is the industry leader in India in both, mobile phones and telecom infrastructure. They are now setting up a a state- of-the-art, world class manufacturing plant in Chennai to expand the product portfolio to include the entire gamut of GSM-based mobile network equipment.
The Opportunity
The Chennai unit will be a part of their integrated global manufacturing operations and will work in tandem with their plants worldwide. With Manufacturing being a dedicated vertical, the India HR would be required to study and implant global best practices from the international system into the India operations. The company is strongly employee focused, with a people friendly culture and pro-active HR practices worldwide. This position therefore offers excellent exposure to global best practices, with ample scope for local initiatives. Careers in the company are global in nature and career paths international.
The position
As the HR Head, you will work as a business partner for the vertical, to formulate and implement HR strategy, putting in place management teams and HR systems & processes. You will instill organisational values and focus on developing leadership talent, keeping the complexities of this industry and challenges in mind. A deep understanding of company strategy would need to be translated to a human resources plan. This is an HR role that also requires IR familiarity from a strategy perspective.
Your profile
You must be an MBA or equivalent in Human Resources from a premier institute, with 10 - 15 years of post qualification experience. You must have strong exposure to HR concepts and their application as well as direct experience of working in a manufacturing facility at a senior level, preferably with an MNC. Familiarity with the electronics industry would be an advantage. Past experience of independently handling the strategic and operational HR needs of an independent business unit and an ability to interact globally and manage evolving HR needs in a fast paced growth environment are essential.
